Tienes que saber diferenciar una página de empresa de un perfil personal. El perfil personal es la versión de la plataforma para personas físicas (su público principal cuando se creó esta red social). Este perfil funciona como una «ficha personal» dentro de Facebook ya que contiene tu información personal (lugar donde vives o estudias, tus preferencias, tu red de amigos, etc). En ocasiones (más veces de que crees), hay muchas personas que crearon un perfil personal en vez de una página de Facebook. Con el tiempo se dieron cuenta de que no necesitan amigos, sino seguidores. Cuando conviertes tu cuenta personal en una página de empresa, tras la conversión, tendrás una cuenta personal y una página. Facebook transfiere tus fotos del perfil y de portada a la página de empresa y el nombre de tu cuenta personal será el que se usará como nombre de tu página. Eso sí, las herramientas que te permiten transferir la información de tu perfil a la página sólo estarán disponibles los 14 días posteriores a la conversión.

Tienes la opción de elegir a amigos de tu perfil para que se conviertan automáticamente en personas a las que les gusta tu nueva página, pero las publicaciones de tu perfil no se transferirán a la fan page.
